Hip
hop is my second nature. A form of zen, another nature for my well-being. The
music brought me into it, and thereafter, the other 3 elements, the DJ, the
Bboy, the graffiti artist, creating a raw, underground, uncensored culture
immersed me deeply into what is rooted heavily as not just music, or a kind of
dance, but a lifestyle. Hip hop found its way as to being a huge part of my
life over time of taking part in the culture, through dance, rhymes, and the
visual artform of graffiti. Eventually, hip hop has become a second reality.
I
live through hip hop, day in, and day out. If I’m not partaking in one of the
elements, I’m looking into any of the other elements, and observing how they
play a part in creating and building a concrete, rugged culture.
The
nature of the work I have to show places me and my soul in a state where the
average 24 hour world doesn’t exist. Currently, I photograph graffiti, from
tags, to bubble letters, to pieces, all the way down to wildstyles and murals.
Some pictures will show work from legends such as KWEST, and other writers such
as Flown, Sen, and many more.
